Our recent move has involved a lot of waiting. It has been quite a lesson in contentment and trusting in God’s timing, and I think I’m still learning that lesson now.
First, we were waiting and praying that my husband would get a job in another state, where we could be close to family.
Then we waited for the house to sell.
And we waited for a 2 month closing.
And we are in the process of waiting for our next home to be ready for us.
After we move into this temporary home, we will wait to build our new home. Waiting is the name of the game.
Last week, we had work to do on our land. Electricity and plumbing were still not connected as we had hoped, so we had to improvise on our work day. I picked up pizza and declared we would have a picnic. My kids asked if we could picnic under the willow tree.
We’re moving out to the country and while there is nothing out in this tiny town, it completely excites my kids. A whole lot of nothing means a whole lot of room to play. And run. And chase each other with sticks that they call pirate swords.
For my kids, the willow tree is a secret hideout.
And the perfect place for a quick picnic.
Happy Saturday, my friends. May yours be a day of contentment, trusting God, and letting go of perfect.
